Mukesh Jain obtained his Bachelor of Engineering Degree with Gold Medal from Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology, Bhopal in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering. Further to this, he received his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the premier Business School of the country, Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. He has also received Master of Public Administration from the prestigious Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, USA. During the study at Harvard, he obtained the Mason Fellowship from the Harvard University and he was recipient of prestigious "The Raymond & Josephine Vernon Book Award"and the "Litteaur Fellow Award" of Harvard University.

Shri Jain was leading Accessible India Campaign (Sugamya Bharat Abhiyan), a campaign to create universal accessibility for persons with disabilities, which was launched by the Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on 3rd December, 2015 on the occasion of International Day for Persons with Disabilities.
